1. Hoosiers
Perhaps the best sports movie of all time. Great soundtrack, and outstanding performance by Gene Hackman, and a very realistic portrayal of an alcholic by Dennis Hopper.
2. Blue Velvet
David Lynch at his best. Loved the score and the elements of film noir. Another reason why 1986 was the year of Dennis Hopper.
3. Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Maybe John Hughs' best film, and by far the best work of Matthew Broderick, however in my opinion this is an Alan Ruck film in my opinion.
4. The Mosquito Coast
Peter Weir, Harrison Ford, River Phoenix and Helen Mirren all at the top of their game, what else do you need?
5. Top Gun
6. Stand By Me
7. Crocodile Dundee
8. Flight of the Navigator
